Major changes in version 1.6:
- There is a new version of the manual that includes all the latest tools added to SARX!
- SARX now offers real-time tracking (RTT). At present, the RTT only works with Motorola MOTOTRBO/NeoNytro combinations, but I want SARX to work with as many RTT hardware choices as possible. Contact me if you would like to partner to get SARX working with your RTT system!
- You can now create multiple auto-incrementing labels for things like unmarked trails, streams, etc. all at once. This works the same way as the tool to create multiple auto-incrementing planning points.
- Export any SARX map data created during a search to a GPX file. Simply select the points, lines, and polygons you want to export in the Contents Window and export. The created GPX file can then be opened by other software such as Google Earth and Ozi Explorer.

Download ArcGIS Explorer Desktop
For SARX to install, you must first install ESRI's ArcGIS Explorer Desktop

Earlier Releases
Version 1.5
- Full version release notes
- Switched to using an xml file to hold all configuration settings for SARX
- A new "Enhanced View" tool that saves both the view of the map (scale and area), but also all of the map data you have checked in the contents window at the time the view is created.
- Internal drive mapping so that you can set a drive letter (e.g. "S:\") to point to offline background map data.
- Edit Tracks tool now shows the distance, average speed, and total time for the selected track points.
- General bug fixes and a concerted effort to improve stability in all SARX tools, particularly for input fields. Now all input fields in SARX force you to click away from the field before the value is accepted. This makes all of the tools work the same as ones native to ArcGIS Explorer Desktop and makes all of the SARX tools more robust

- Note! Installing version 1.3 will cause SARX to lose the location of your SAR statistics txt file used by the Add Rings tool. To fix this, open the new Configure SARX tool (last button on the home tab) and set the location of the SAR Statistics file there. See the manual for more information
- A configuration tool that allows you to create automated backups of the nmf map file every 10 minutes, and turn on a "dirty dot" that gets larger and redder as you have more unsaved changes in your map as a visual reminder to save your map.
- The print map tool now has a print preview AND you can now print to scale
- The import GPX file tool now imports all time data so that imported tracks show up with full information in the edit track tool
- Edit track tool no longer crashes on duplicate track names or on tracks with many (i.e. hundreds or thousands) of points. There are also fields showing the length of the total track and the length of the selected track points.
- The measure track tool now looks like all the other tools and you can now choose to measure between existing points on the map as well as locations clicked on the map
- You can now save the lines as well as the points when you project points.
- Full version release notes
- You can now enter points by manually entering coordinates in any of the major coordinate systems in the Coordinates drop down menu on the Home tab. This includes decimal degrees, degrees decimal minutes, DMS, UTM and MGRS. This works for the Add Points, Add Rings and Project Points tool.
- The edit tracks tool now shows speed and timestamp data for every track point. HOWEVER! this will only appear for GPS tracks that you download directly from the GPS using the SARX Retrieve GPS Data button on the Home tab. It will not show any velocity data for GPX files that you import into SARX.
- Brand new Project Points tool! You can now project a single point, a line of points, or a grid of points either from an existing point on the map, a location that you click on the map, or coordinates you manually enter. You can dynamically adjust the values for the projected points and see exactly where they go before you add them to the map permanently.
- GPX files saved for GPS data downloaded using SARX now properly saves all timestamps in UTC format and saves all elevation data. As far as I know the GPX file SARX creates is now fully compliant with the GPX standard.
- Now installs with a single executable install file
- First documented release of SARX
