SARX Training Tutorial #1
This tutorial will take you through some of the basic functions of SARX for managing search data in two parts. In part One, you will:
  • Name and save a new ArcGIS Explorer map (.nmf files)
  • Enter data under the Planning Points folder
  • Enter data under the Status Updates folder
  • Place Lost Person Behaviour rings on the map for one category.
In part Two of the tutorial you will expand on the previous work and:
  • Retrieve data from a field GPS tasking
  • Send planning data to a field GPS to aid in conducting the task
  • Establish a "View" in SARX
  • Print a map to a PDF file
  • Print coordinates

In this training tutorial, you will perform the following functions:
  • Rearrange folders to accommodate a new operational period;
  • Create new folders for the next operational period;
  • Edit a GPS track file;
  • Project waypoints;
  • Measure a line and angle;
  • Create and label planning segments.
